Lewisville Transit-Oriented Project to Double in Size

 From the Dallas Morning News:

A Lewisville apartment community that’s been a home run with renters is starting a major expansion.

Huffines Communities said Wednesday that it has begun the second phase of its Hebron 121 Station near State Highway 121 and Stemmons Freeway.

The 90-acre transit oriented development opened in 2011 and leased ahead of projections.

So the developers are building another 444 apartments which are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2014.

The 234 rental units in the first phase of Hebron 121 Station are almost fully leased.

“Huffines Communities is gratified to see so much excitement and demand for Hebron 121 Station,” said developer Phillip Huffines.

The developers hope to complete the entire project by 2018 with 1,700 rental units.

The rental community is built adjacent to a Denton County Transit Authority rail station.

Financing for the new phase of construction at Hebron 121 Station was provided by  MUSA Financial.

Humphreys and Partners designed the buildings. And Jordan Construction is the general contractor.

Huffines Communities bought the land for Hebron 121 Station — some of which was in a flood plain — in 2006 and announced plans for the project before the rail system was completed
